EIS UNITES IN WEEK OF SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT AND PRAYER
By: Evangeline Tan-Alvez
The power of prayer has once again driven the entire EIS community to unite despite its highly diverse population, culture, and faith. From the first of September to the fifth, students, teachers, and staff faithfully gather in prayer and faith-building messages from invited speakers at the Milne Auditorium in different time slots, starting with Faculty and Staff at 6:30 in the morning, the Kindergarten at 8:30, Grades 1 and 2 at 9:10, Middle School at 9:55, High School at 11:20, and finally Grades 3 through 5 at 12:10.
At the core of each gathering is the collective desire to honor and praise God, upholding the theme of the week of prayer, “The Path to Abundant Joy.” Pastor Erwin Mamhot, Mr. Ganda Sihotang, and Mr. Gabriel Salvacion put together inspirational devotionals and testimonies that enrich and deepen the connection between God and the EIS family.
Mr. Gabriel Salvacion emphasized five key points to abundant joy: to follow Jesus, serve others first, open our hearts to Christ and accept Him as our Messiah, experience genuine repentance, and dedicate our lives to Christ. On the other hand, Pastor Erwin conveyed the grace and love of
God as the source of the abundant joy, while Mr. Ganda focused on Christ as the ultimate counselor, even in this ChatGPT generation.
The EIS Week of Prayer is celebrated twice a year.
