ADMISSION PROTOCOL

1. Announcement of Application:
Application forms are available at the reception counter in the administration building

2. Admission Requirements:

    1. Application Fee / Placement Test
      2,000 Baht fee (non-refundable)
    2. Applicants’ Age
  • Pre-Kindergarten applicant must be at least 2 years and 5 months of age by August.
  • Kindergarten 1 applicant must be at least 3 years of age by August 16.
  • Kindergarten 2 applicant must be at least 3 years and 10 months of age by August 16.
  • Kindergarten 3 applicant must be 5 years of age by August 16. For applicants from international schools or English nursery, the minimum age requirement is 4 years and 9 months.
  • Grade 1 applicant must be 6 years of age by August 16. For applicants from international schools or English nursery, the minimum age requirement is 5 years and 9 months.

3. Admission Process:

Applicants should complete the following steps:

  1. Present a completed application form.
  2. Submit three 1×1 inch recent color photos (front view position in school uniform).
  3. Submit a copy of the following documents:
    • Thai Students
      • Birth certificate.
      • Student’s and parents’ household registration.
      • Parents’ Thai citizen ID cards.
      • Official transcript (High School students), the last two years from the previous school.
      • Report card (lower grade students), the last two years from the previous school.
      • Academic and behavioral records from the previous school.
    • Foreign Students
      • Passports of applicant and parents.
      • Parents’ work permit.
      • Visa stamped on passport.
      • Official transcript (High School students), the last two years from the previous school.
      • Report card (lower grade students), the last two years from the previous school.
      • Academic and behavioral records from the previous school.
  1. Take placement test on the date specified.
  2. Notificaton of acceptance

4. Placement Tests:

EIS administers placement tests, both written and oral, to determine the applicant’s proficiency in English language in the following areas:

  • Language skills
  • Reading comprehension / oral reading
  • Essay writing
  • Mathematics

Parents and students will be interviewed by the grade-level teachers.

Acceptance based on:

  • Transcript, academic and behavioral records from the previous school
  • Placement test results
  • Recommendations of the interviewer
  • availability of space
  • Age
  • Behavior


5. 
Notification of Acceptance:

The Office of EIS Registrar.
Accepted potential students to the lower grades are allowed to attend the fourth quarter for adjustment period

6. Registration Procedure:

Students who are accepted should follow these steps for enrollment:

  1. Pick up the registration package
  2. Register on the designated date
  3. Present the following to the Registrar’s office
    • Directory Cards
    • Health Services form
    • Copy of completed achievement record or transcript
    • Recommendation letter from the previous school
  4. Report to Student Administration
  5. Pay registration fee at the Business Office by cashier’s check payable to Ekamai International School or by credit card (bank charge 2%)
  6. Request from the cashier a temporary smart card that will last for a month. Students can add an amount to it at the snackbar or the cafeteria.
  7. Buy uniforms at U-Shop Room 112.
  8. Photo taking for ID. Student will be informed of photo-taking schedule after the school starts. It will be in room 215 from 08:10 – 08-25 and 11:00 – 12:40.
  9. Guardians’ ID Card: 3 ID’s per student. Please bring the following documents and contact the Reception Counter:Thai Citizen: A copy of one of the following: Certified copy of ID, passport or driving license inclusive of student’s full name, ID number and parent’s name in English.Foreigners: Certified copy of passport inclusive of student’s full name, ID number and guardian’s name in English.Photo-taking: Guardian who wants to make the ID card may contact the receptionists and leave their contact number.
 
 

Summer School

New students are required to attend summer school, a four-week session held from mid June through July.

Admission of Late Applicants:

  1. Registrar consults grade level leaders of the possibility of accepting new students into the intended level. The decision is based on:
    If conditions above are satisfied then the application is sold to the applicant.

     

    • The time of the school year
    • The needs of the applicant (specific reasons)
    • Vacancy in the grade level
  2. Applicant goes through the normal testing procedures.
  3. Admission Committee makes the decision of acceptance.
  4. Notification of the decision is made to parents & teachers.
  5. Completion of Registration.
  6. Joining of the class.
