VARSITY WOMEN VOLLEYBALL HAILED AS CHAMPION OF AISAA

By | Ivy Lou Dagoajes

For the first time in many years, the EIS Flames were hailed as champions in the AISAA (Asia International Athletic Association) Volleyball One Day Tournament and finished second place in the league last October 22, 2022, at the Concordian International School.

Nine International Schools competed, namely; Ekamai International School (EIS), Wells International School, Berkeley International School, Thai-Chinese International School (TCEIS), KIS International School, Concordian International School, Logos International School from Cambodia, American School of Bangkok (ASB), and King Mongkut’s International Demonstration School (KMIDS).

The championship game of EIS versus Logos International School was intense. EIS won the first set, but Logos triumphed in the second set. Each team did strong strategy and defense in their match in the 3rd set, but EIS excelled at blocking the spikes of the opposing team. Despite their nervousness, Mr. Jun Earl Dagaojes, the EIS Varsity Team coach, reminded them to stay focused on their game.

Successfully EIS won with a score of 15-11 over Logos International School, while Wells International School was awarded 3rd place in the tournament.

The game ended past dusk with the athletes’ apparent exhaustion, but it was a joyous victory for the EIS Flames. Their hard work in training paid off with a trophy and medals. The team is gearing up for yet another league coming with so much optimism.

Congratulations, EIS Flames! Your victory is also our victory.
