PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Ekamai International School’s Pre-Kindergarten program opened with the view of preparing children for regular school. We started this program in August 2012 to offer a program that prepares your child for a 21st century education in a Christian environment where they can learn and play in a warm nurturing environment.

A typical day in Pre-K involves mainly singing, dancing, fun projects and exploring the world through first-hand experience. Children are taught hygiene, healthy lifestyles and rules of conduct when interacting with others. The Pre-K students read stories, do phonics, simple Math, act our rhymes, role-play and many more engaging activities. At all times children are taught in English which will enable to acquire the language naturally.

A child who has joined the Pre-K program will have picked up skills that can help them succeed better in their education. We would like to invite parents and their toddlers who are of ages 2+ to join our program.

KINDERGARTEN

The EIS Kindergarten was started in August 1999 with three classes of K-3 pupils. At present we have two classes for K-1, two classes for K-2 and three classes for K-3. And just last year, we opened a Pre-Kindergarten class.

Kindergartners start their day with a flag-raising ceremony of their own, followed by a short exercise program. The formal classroom activity starts with morning worship where we sing songs and listen to character building stories.

Structured curriculum is a part of the students’ life. This includes English, Math, Social Sciences, Music, Computer (for K-2 & K-3), Chinese, Arts and Crafts.

The K-2 and K-3 students are also active in character building programs such as “Little Lambs” and the “Eager Beavers” which are progressive classes of the Adventurers, a Christ-centered program similar to Boy/Girl Scouts.

We also have Montessori class to help our Kindergarten students in the “discovery” model approach to learning.

Relationships and experiences during the early years of a child’s life determine the direction of the child’s spiritual, physical, mental, social and emotional development. The EIS Kindergarten Program provides a climate for learning that is fun, stimulating, loving and secure.
