CHILD PROTECTION IN SCHOOL A VITAL NEED

In its continuing effort to uphold safety and security on campus, Ekamai International School conducted a child protection training on October 18, 2023, at the Milne Auditorium with Ms. Thongpairam Puytrakool from the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights Foundation (CPCR) as the resource
speaker.

” This seminar will focus on child protection within the school, specifically addressing the importance of and the response to child abuse. The purpose is to ensure all teachers and staff understand and correctly handle preliminary problem-solving procedures,” conveyed Ms. Monjai Chansuwan, the school’s child protection officer.

Attendees actively listened as Ms. Puytrakool presented cases of child safety issues on campus and how the teachers, staff, and other stakeholders can come together to protect the best interest of every student on campus. She likewise provided systematic and practical measures for handling issues of bullying, physical threats, and even emotional and psychological support. She also encouraged the teachers and staff in attendance to work with organizations or government offices such as theirs that can provide support in complicated child protection issues to mitigate further harm.
