EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AT ITS CORE THROUGH GB SALE

Students in high school taking General Business classes embarked on experiential learning on January
19, 2024, through the General Business Sale. Experiential learning is an engaged learning process
whereby students “learn by doing” and by reflecting on the experience. It is the application of all the
business concepts they acquired inside the classroom, from business conceptualization, marketing,
production, human resources, financial planning, and actual sales. Students worked together from the
birth of the business idea up to its implementation, ensuring that they observed all the requisites of
putting up a small business.

This year, an array of choices, from healthy drinks to eye candy treats such as chocolate-coated
marshmallows, French fries, and fried chicken to traditional Thai favorites like soda popsicles, yam
mama, and original mama noodles, everyone had a feast of something sweet, savory, and sumptuous
choices.

The one-day business entrepreneurs will be rated based on their brick-and-mortar store, sales,
teamwork, quality of products and services, and many other entrepreneurial qualities. A pool of judges
was tasked to visit all the booths to evaluate if the students complied with the requirements set forth by
their GB teachers.

This annual event fosters an out-of-the-box learning experience for the students. It likewise encourages
them to be compassionate as they donate ten percent of their sales proceeds to a chosen charity or
institution needing help.

Job well done to all GB sales students who toiled and labored to make this event successful.
