Abstract photographer and Chicago Institute of Design professor Aaron Siskind believe that photography is a way of feeling, touching, and loving. “What photographers have caught on film is captured forever. It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything,” he said. Such is true to the recently concluded photo contest hosted by the Student Council themed Night Photography.

Close to fifty entries made it to the selection process were representatives from Canon Thailand, grade artists, and faculty members who are photo enthusiasts narrowed down the choices to three. “It was a challenging process because some of the photographs are really good,” exclaimed one grade artist present during the deliberation and selection of winners.

Topping the list is a capture from  Yodsawat Pongvatrangsri of the Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun, locally known as Wat Chaeng. It is situated along the Chao Phraya riverside, making it a frequently visited tourist spot in the Thai capital. Coming in a very close second is an interpretation of CyberPunk Thailand by Jash Chhabria. Simultaneously, an impressive nightscape capture from Chanakarn Komthongvijit entitled “Out of the Night” completed the top three.

Winners received cash prizes and certificates of participation, and a free pass to the Canon Photography Workshop held at the High School Library of Ekamai International School.

Congratulations to all the winners and those who submitted their entries and participated in this yearly creative visual competition.

Kudos to the Student Council officers for hosting and encouraging students to tap into their creative potentials through
