Senior Presentation

As a senior in high school, I have been looking forward to our Senior Presentation for
months. It was finally held on March 31st, 2023, and I can confidently say that it was one of the
most meaningful experiences of my high school career. Unlike other senior presentations
defined on the internet, Ekamai International School offers a unique timeline of Senior
Presentations. First, students take time marching to present themselves in front of the teachers,
students, and parents, along with the graduation gown. When they are seated in front of the
auditorium, videos of our younger selves, meaningful speeches, and emotional grade songs are
presented. This year, the motto and aim of our Class 2023 were ‘Today we follow, tomorrow we
lead’ and ‘Cherish yesterday, Dream Tomorrow, Live Today.’ to encourage reflection, ambition,
and mindfulness and to appreciate our past, present, and future. Moreover, we had our class
flower a red carnation, an animal as an owl, and color as dark green. All these choices were
made between us seniors and senior officers.

One of the best parts of the EIS Senior Presentation is at the end of the event. When
students are marching out as pairs, they can perform funny actions to make the audience laugh,
easing the tension of seriousness. After the event of Senior Presentation, it is our school
tradition for juniors, sophomores, and freshmen to hand graduating seniors flowers to whom
they wish. This is supposed as a gift of affection and gratitude for seniors they have met, and
wishing good luck in the future. And when all these events are done, it is our school tradition for
Seniors, teachers, and administrators to go for lunch outside of school. This year, the lunch was
served on Bourbon Street, Ekkamai.

As one of the seniors, I can assure you that most of the seniors went through an
emotional state during the Senior Presentation since the slides that presented our younger
selves and a grade song made based on our class were all indeed touching enough for us to be
suddenly aware that we are graduating seniors. This triggered us to go through various
emotions by being conscious of the fact that we wouldn’t be able to see each other as we had
and that we would definitely feel nostalgia about our Class of 2023 in the future. Even though
the Senior Presentation wasn’t an official graduation, it was an experience for us seniors to
present ourselves to the school with respect and gratitude that we are soon officially
graduating.
